No short-form. At all.
Nothing under three minutes reaches the feed, and there is no switch to let it back in. Not a filter you remember to set — a thing the app does not do.
A native macOS app
If “just one more” has cost you half an hour, that was the design, not your willpower. YuSub is a Mac app that organizes your YouTube subscriptions: it shows what the channels you follow posted, in order, grouped under tags you create, and plays them in the app.
Features
With twenty subscriptions, any app will do. At three hundred it is a different problem.
Nothing under three minutes reaches the feed, and there is no switch to let it back in. Not a filter you remember to set — a thing the app does not do.
A channel can carry several tags at once. Drag it onto a tag in the sidebar, click the tag to see only that group. Nothing has to live in one folder.
Typing ㄱㅂ finds 개발. Korean syllables are matched
by their leading consonants, so a half-remembered name is enough.
Instead of one feed with everything in it, see what is new from the channels you tagged.
The official YouTube player, unmodified. No trip to the browser, and it remembers how far you got.
Unsubscribe from a channel you stopped watching, right from the list. It applies to your YouTube account.
A native app written in Swift. Keyboard shortcuts, drag and drop and dark mode work the way they do everywhere else on the Mac.
Google account
YuSub asks for the narrowest access that lets it do its job, and nothing else.
youtube.readonly — YuSub reads the channels you subscribe to and
the recent videos from them, so it can group those channels under your tags
and collect their videos into one feed. It reads nothing about any account
other than your own.
youtube.force-ssl — used only when you unsubscribe from a channel
inside the app, and only after a dialog that names the channel. YuSub never
posts, comments, rates, uploads, or edits any content.
profile — shown in the app so you can see which account is signed
in. Nothing else is done with it.
Privacy
There is no YuSub server. The tags you make are stored on this Mac, and if you want them on another Mac they travel through your own iCloud. Either way they never pass through us. We cannot see your subscriptions.
Pricing
The subscription list, the feed and playback are free. What costs money is the organizing.
